[ she's brought angela to a cafe not overly far from the office they'd discussed things at and, once some kind of black tea and a little tower of cakes sits between them, don'll settle in to talk. ]
They did not say overly much of thy Library in particular. I can put together a picture with what I know from thee as well as what they said, though -- they had been sucked into thy Library, fought in receptions, and by thy Librarian's hands were defeated -- or so I assume, from thy words prior. Madam Olga thought herself dead, yet not a moment later she found herself upon the mudflats of the Great Lake with not an ally in sight.
[ sips tea ]
Rain found her fighting trash crabs and selling the scrap off its back, and Mika came soon after! 'Twas only natural, then, they should run a Workshop together not unlike the Office they had come from hence. That is all that was explained to us, though Sir Vergilius seems aware that those who were once taken are now finding themselves very much alive in the City once more.
( angela sips her tea as don quixote explains, her mouth growing thinner. first the purple tear— now that office of fixers? they really are being released at random intervals, but to think they'd be released at random points as well... she sets her cup down and picks at one of the cakes, not particularly hungry any more. )
I see. For the record, though, I dislike your terminology. They weren't "sucked in". They were invited, and they stepped through the door. ( minor grievance here. ) They would've been good as dead if they hadn't too, never mind what happened in The Library.
( poor suckers. still, they avoided the fate of tomerry... )
They're... doing well for themselves, though, are they? That's... ( angela pauses, squishing crumbs. ) Good. At least, I know some of the librarians will be relieved to hear a more personal account. We discussed this at our meeting the other week, among other topics, and while there are some people none of us would like to leave the Library's confines—I'm sure they'll be happy to hear of Miss Olga and the others.
( interesting they just ditched the fixer job. she supposes if the office was considered good as gone, it would make sense...? how long does it take for the hana association to rule that? hmm— )
[ they got "sucked in" and "wrapped up" in receptions, which makes their hesitation to say the word funny to her. still, where angela has little appetite left, don seems to have room aplenty.
good that it may ease their minds a little though. she rather likes the librarians, after all. ]
[ He's assuming that Angela has seen the newsletter, as well as the announcement on the network made by Tsuruno and Robby, and since those Room 312 files contain something disturbing, it bears addressing. ]
Have you visited the University's Department of Social Sciences, Angela?
[ angela doesn't like the gardens. or the tea party, for that matter. but it is still a new place to go, and there's an all-together familiar voice rising from what could debatably be the worse of the two sides of the garden's greenhouse-- ]
I shan't repeat myself again! Thou'rt wrong, a peaceful world such as this is exactly what I--
[ would ruin in an instant, laughs the flowers, if only to play hero once more
don breathes in, gripping some of the flowers by their stems.
what's stopping thee? they ask. those "friends" who may disagree? thou hath softened, don quixote. thy claws and fangs dulled.
there's a whine from inside, frustrated as she can't just tear them from their pots and off the walls, whatever the punishment for it after. she's just thankful no one else is here to hear it. ]
( angela doesn't like the gardens much. she dislikes the tea party, and she hates, hates, hates the greenhouse. it's only don's risen, distressed voice that forces her to take one step after the other.
she was rescued by other people. she was beaten senseless too, but she was rescued. she can do it, too.
she ignores the flowers—they're vile things with vile words and, even if they're true, they're cruel. they aren't put in order, they aren't said the way they need to be said... she knows that. )
[ correct: she was thankful no one else was here to hear it.
don quixote stills, as if that'll stop angela's footsteps or the flowers that seem to turn their blossoms her way to coax her along.
what is there to fear? she isn't scared. thou art.
she isn't. she doesn't care what others say about her-- but thee do.
that is why you try so, so hard, don quixote. ]
Prithee, [ a call to angela now, but there's nothing pleading in it; there's a cold, burning anger that isn't intended towards her, but spills forth nonetheless, ] come no closer. I do not wish for thee to hear the lies of these vile blossoms.
( kicks down angela's door but like the metaphorical one because fearne knows better (source needed) and would love not to get punched by gebura actually, )

...she did tell him that, and she did mean it, both in a good and bad way, but actually reading the text gives her some mixed emotions. still, she remains professional— and so it probably all comes off a little stiff. )
I'm glad you've found somewhere you'd like to be. Your peers will miss you, so stop by if you'd like from time to time. The art corner will always be here too, as other employees utilize it.

Thank you for working here at my request until now. I found it quite fun, despite my complaints. I hope it wasn't all bad for you either.
My name is Lestat, and I'm on something of a mission for a friend of mine. You may have heard of the upcoming Gala being organized by Ghost; she has no date for the occasion, and I can only assume this is because no-one has realized she hasn't been asked yet. She would like company, of course, and very much deserves, if only for all her hard work alone.
A friend of yours has suggested that you could be the perfect partner, so I am here to facilitate.
I know Ms. Ghost. We chatted briefly on a post I made. My previous plans for company fell through, so as long as she wouldn't mind attending with me, I can act as her partner for the night. I've never been to a gala before regardless. It might be a worthwhile new experience to have.
I think as long as there is no, ah — how do you say it — rebound, situation going on, that the two of you have the potential to have a wonderful time together. Ghost is quite the character. Very charming, quite beautiful, and deserves good company for an evening she's worked very hard on.
I'm afraid I haven't been blessed with the opportunity to get to know you as of yet, madame, but I wouldn't be opposed to making your acquaintance at the gala itself. Perhaps we could share a dance together.
Merry Christmas and a happy Noel to you! I'm here to announce who you'll be a secret Santa to... Your giftee is: Altria Caster!
Congratulations! Here's a few notes to help you pick or make the perfect present for them.
LIKES: Chocolate. Everything! DISLIKES: Nothing HOBBIES: Learning magecraft! Trying new foods! Shopping! Looking at cute clothes and things! Lately, naming the stars!
Remember we'll be having a Christmas party on the 25th, so if you want to give it to them then or just drop it off by the tree for them to find, well, you can do just that! We'll have a lot of traditional Christmas foods, plus smores, and I'm sure it'll be a wonderful little time for us to gather, sing carols, and be merry this cold winter season!
If you've got any questions, comments, concerns, or desires for clarifications... You got one chance to ask them, because I've got a bunch of people to contact and I don't have a bunch of time to entertain conversation! :)
12/25, whenever it is she can sneak in the bookstore....
( this wooden box can be found on her desk in her office! it is wrapped and tied off with an unnecessarily huge ribbon, of course, because why wouldn't it be. there are also a lot of smaller ones, just for fun. does this make it harder to unwrap? yeah maybe a little. but now she has all these ribbons!
whenever it is she finally gets through all of that, the box will open to a deep-set frame. a shadow box nestled carefully within parchment paper (and even more ribbons).
blue clematis blooms and fennel, dried and preserved, and a small sleeping cat curled up at the bottom, just barely shrouded by the greenery. the cat itself isn't anything particularly impressive, roughly carved from wood and and painted a striped orange. but it's there! dozing away with a fluffy tail covering its face.
then, carved into the edge of the frame, a short note. )
but to choose kindness after everything is what makes you beautiful.
( ........ but also if she lifts that frame, there's a small mug at the bottom. 🪿 )
[ In addition to Yesod's next batch of typed copies of items from The Bookstore's collection, Angela receives a flat dark blue box. Inside, she will find a framed photo of a candid scene when all past and current members of The Bookstore's staff with ties to the Library happened to be assembled in one location — the angle may be slightly odd to capture everyone, including Angela herself. ]
