Ehm... Literature! I am fond of novels, so I should like to know more.

The Patron Librarian of Literature is Hod—she's... ( ...how to describe her? ) She wants to be a good person, to herself and those around her.

To her, the City's "Literature" are the lives of its inhabitants: every person has their own story, and thus that's what her floor specializes in. Apart from recently, she's been fairly polite and respectful—but I guess everyone has to learn how to stand up for themselves eventually. ( she'd learned that, too, hm? ) Hod gets along with her assistant librarians well, though she'd been quite an overbearing person both as a boss and as a coworker prior to the Library, and she hosts a book club with them every week. It doesn't get in the way of her work, so I don't mind it.

( she's never attended, but she lets it happen. )

She's the type of person to refer to you as "Mister" or "Miss" unless you tell her to cut it out. ( a beat. ) When we first met, she called me "Lady Angela", so I suppose she has that in her repertoire too.

[ a polite young lady who values the stories that people can share... who wants to be good to the people around her and herself, who's become comfortable and confident enough to speak to angela as an equal then; don thinks she rather likes the sound of her. ]

We would get along, I think! Next, um... I confess, I have little interest in the others topics, though I do wish to know their patrons. What is the difference between the sciences? Yesod is also one, no?

Natural Sciences deal with the world's natural traits around us, while Social Sciences deals with people. Yesod heads Technological Sciences, which handles the technology of our world.

Tiphereth and Chesed are the other two sciences, in that order—they're in the same grouping of floors as Gebura, so she's quite familiar with them. ( briah... ) Tiphereth is a young girl with a no-nonsense attitude; she's practical and hardworking, so despite our differences I consider her a good employee. She had an adoptive brother, once, but if you meet her I wouldn't bring it up.

Chesed... is someone I don't get along with that well. He's a little like Netzach that way. ( except she feels like chesed means to be condescending, sometimes. not as much as hokma, but— ) I'd never prefer his company though. Unlike a few other librarians, he has a penchant for bringing up the past and trying to compare it to current events, as if they're the same.

( they are. they aren't. it's difficult to reconcile. they have a choice, but is it really a "choice"...? no more than what they had. )

...He also likes to make coffee. While I'm not the biggest fan, I'd suggest you ask him to make you a cup if you meet him. He's proud of his skills. Gebura likes his macchiato.

Whatfor do thee not get along with Netzach? I find him pleasant company, and he does not seem a bad sort.

No more than I find Yesod fussy, or Netzach too relaxed. Even Mistress Gebura is not as intimidating as she may appear -- all of thee are much more than that. Thou'rt a little difficult to get along with at times, but that does not mean I think poorly of thee. Hmhm, rather than stuck-up, thou art... distant. But in a different way than Sir Roland.

Malkuth is the Patron Librarian of the Floor of History. She's inept and talentless beyond belief, though she does her best at her job and always has--it's just never been enough. That woman... ( of all the people who believed in that man's dream... ) Every word sounds like it's the start of some lecture or gotcha against me. I'd be happy if she never showed her face around here, though I'm sure her fellow Asiyah members would be glad to see her.

I'm not entirely ungrateful to her for her work in my Library. ( she's thankful for each of them, though she's hard-pressed to say it. it should just be understood. ) And there was a time where we could've been friends, too. But I can't stand the way she talks, as if she knows better than I do. I can't stand that from...

You remind me a little of her with your energy, but you'd probably get along better with Hod than Malkuth. Your "justice" and her "justice" are different.

"Asiyah" is a group name for Malkuth, Hod, Yesod, and Netzach. It refers to their previous occupation, but don't worry about it. Her justice is...

I have no issue with thee as well! Thy manner reminds me much of Sir Vergilius, so I am used to it. I am often scolded for my efforts as well, so I feel for thy Miss Malkuth; it is difficult, always coming up short.

Hokma and Binah are the last ones--Religion and Philosophy respectively. Binah is objective and has an interest in seeing how events play out... He and I get along very well, for we both speak our mind without thought, but...

It feels as if there is far more to him than he should like us to think. Hong Lu is a rather private person who does not speak much of himself, though we have learned some things about his upbringing. [ like she's one to talk. ] I wish to learn more about him someday, under better circumstances than not. He wields-- what is it? A guandao, that is what he called it. A beautiful weapon, long and with a stunningly curved blade at the end, and his own height only lengthens his reach! Let's see, let's see, what else...

He is a charming young man who can bring a smile or a frown quickly to anyone's face, which is most impressive, and... he is very caring, too. Ehm, he understands others better than one may think. I am not sure how else to put it.

Madame Ryoshu! A skilled bladeswoman of few words, she and Young Sinclair understand one another perfectly -- it is because of his empathetic nature, I think, that he is able to parse the single letters she often uses to communicate her feelings, though any one of us knows what S.Y.H.O means at any point of time! That is "slice your head off", for the record. She is fond of talking of battle in the way one may an artform, and, ehm, knows more than ten ways to take apart a person rather painfully. She is not someone that thee would wish to be on the wrong side of.

[ but there's still respect, still adoration in her words. ]

I am terrified of what she can do to a single chicken wing, however. It is... impressive. [ ... distant look. ] Very impressive...

She is a fine enough chef, but too stern for words. Thee can ask Young Sinclair of it when the chance comes, for I was not on her team. Ehm, she is fond of smoking and is never seen without a cigarette, and in that way among some others she reminds me of Mistress Gebura. I think they would get along, to an extent -- at the very least, Mistress Gebura may find someone worthy of a fight with the blade with her.

( unless miss ryoshu is on the level of a color, probably not. )

That would be Miss Outis, who is our resident abuela-- heehee, she is not so old, but she acts it with her stern tone and sterner hand. A ruthless woman who has commanded others prior during the Smoke War, one would be remiss not to take her advice when she seeks to give it! She and the Manager Esquire seem close, in that she speaks highly of them and their decisions whilst demeaning our own, and it would seem that Mistress Rodya and Ishmael have become rather good friends towards her despite her harsh speech.

Oh, and she is quite familiar with workshops of many kinds due to her background, so she assisted Mika and Rain with modifying our omnibus as well! She is also Mephistopheles's maintainer when it comes to the more mechanical parts of it. Miss Outis is shrouded in mystery, however, for she does not speak of herself whatsoever; she prefers more to speak on those around her, and to leave behind those that are too weak to move forward. That is where we clash.

... But she is kind, in her own way. Even if that is with the butt of her blade into the stomach of a panicking ally.
